Open for Art Collaborations
We see Kinbaku as an art form that lives not only in rope sessions, but also in dialogue with other creative fields.
Over the years, we have collaborated with international photographers, filmmakers, and artists — and we are always open to hear about new interesting projects.
About us
We are Natasha NawaTaNeko and Alexander Ma —rope performers, educators, and explorers of Kinbaku
For more than a decade, we have been active in the international rope scene, teaching, performing, and creating. Our work bridges tradition and contemporary expression, blending Japanese rope bondage (Shibari/Kinbaku) with somatic awareness and artistic vision.
Natasha is a Russian-born, Berlin-based rope bottom, performer, and educator. She brings her background in Sexological Bodywork, movement, and somatics into her rope practice. Viewing Kinbaku as a deeply intimate and transformative art, she is also the author of Somatics for Rope Bottoms (2020), a collection of twelve essays exploring the body’s wisdom in rope.
Alexander is both a rope practitioner and an experienced photographer with a long-standing passion for aesthetics, performance, and embodied art. His dual perspective—behind the camera and within the rope—brings a unique sensitivity to visual storytelling.
Visual Art & Photography
We enjoy participating in photoshoots that explore the body, intimacy, and aesthetics of rope. This can range from fine art and editorial work to fashion or erotic photography. Alexander’s background as a photographer also allows us to contribute a unique visual sensibility to collaborative projects.
Film & Media
We are open to film projects, documentaries, and media features. We can appear as performers or consultants, ensuring that rope is presented safely, authentically, and with artistic depth.
Coaching & Production Support
We offer guidance for productions that wish to integrate rope into photography or film. This includes advice on aesthetics, body positioning, safety, and creating an authentic dynamic on set.
Interviews & Talks
As educators and long-time practitioners, we are happy to share our perspective on Kinbaku, somatics, and creative process in interviews, podcasts, and cultural programs.
Collaborating with Models
We also welcome models and performers who are interested in exploring rope together. If you are curious about appearing in artistic rope projects, feel free to reach out.
