Hi, I’m WykD Dave, and I’ll be teaching this workshop on rope fundamentals.
I want to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over many years of practice to help you become the best rigger you can be. I firmly believe that a strong understanding of the fundamentals — what you do and how you do it — shapes your bondage in the best possible way.
We’ll explore both the philosophy of learning and the discipline of practice.
What do you want to achieve?
Do you want to be simply competent, or do you want to become the best version of yourself as a rigger?
Skills are tools of expression. The stronger your skills, the stronger and more meaningful your work becomes.
Tying is about connection. If your skills leave you disconnected from your rope, your partner, or your intention, then the problem — and the solution — become clear.
One of the most important things you can cultivate is a practice mindset. When you practise, practise with intention. Don’t drift into play when the goal is development and focus. That applies equally to both partners.
This workshop is about building foundations, refining awareness, and developing the skills that allow your rope to become clear, confident, and expressive.

About Wykd DAVE
Dave has over 35 years of experience working with rope and the human body, evolving from intimate bondage to more meditative and expressive forms while remaining committed to continual growth.
His journey has been shaped in partnership with his wife and creative collaborator, Clover—his rope partner, photographer, and friend. Together they published the sold-out book TEN in 2020, marking their first decade of collaboration.
Influenced by interdisciplinary techniques and artistic exploration, Dave’s work has earned international recognition, including original ties and techniques adopted in Japan. His work has appeared in kink and fashion publications worldwide.
His visual work has been exhibited at the Louvre Museum and the Watermill Center, and featured collaborators including Lady Gaga and FKA Twigs. He is also recognized as the only rigger to have worked on a mainstream European film.
