The Kinbaku Society of Berlin (KSB) Magazine

The Kinbaku Society of Berlin (KSB) is a forum initiated by a group of passionate, enthusiastic, and creative individuals who research, practice and study traditional Japanese Rope Bondage (Kinbaku or Shibari), and related subcultures. The outcomes of our studies are published in magazine, featuring poetry, fiction, essays, documentation, drawings, and photography.

About the magazine

The Kinbaku Society of Berlin Magazine is published twice a year, offering a bold and uncensored mix of visual inspiration and in-depth research. Our focus lies in both traditional and contemporary Japanese underground culture—particularly Rope Bondage, Adult Entertainment, and Aesthetics—and how these are perceived in the West.
More broadly, we explore subcultures and the fringes of normative society, aiming to create a platform for genuine human expression. We give voice to those who are deviant (hentai), who don’t quite fit the mold, but who nonetheless have every right to exist.
Our magazine is filled with photography, poetry, novels, articles, documentation, drawings, and interviews.
We produce this art magazine for your delight—as well as our own.
You can buy the magazine online or you can get them from our physical pick up points.
