Seiū Itō Kinbaku Photos is a brand-new photobook collecting the research photographs commissioned by Seiū Itō. These images were taken as reference material for many of his bondage and torture artworks. The originals are now held at the Abnormal Museum (a private collection dedicated to erotic and underground Japanese art) in Iidabashi, Tokyo, Japan.

Seiū Itō (伊藤晴雨) was an artist in early-to-mid 20th-century Japan whose work combined traditional Japanese art styles with intense depictions of bondage and erotic subject matter. For this book, he worked with a photographer to create a set of posed images that would serve as source material for his later drawings and prints.

If you are interested in the visual roots of Kinbaku imagery and how this influenced one of its early modern interpreters, this book belongs in your library.
