Studio 6×6 is our home, our place for research and creation, and a place we want to share with like minded people.
STUDIO 6x6
A carefully designed space for learning, creation and meaningful connection.
We wish our studio to be a place of courage and tenderness, of exploration and introspection, of play and serious study, but above all, a place where you are free to be yourself.
Every detail of the studio has been designed with intention. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, the space combines simplicity, functionality and warmth. Tatami mats, bamboo suspension points and a traditional hashira create an atmosphere that is both inspiring and true to tradition.
Studio 6x6 Guidelines
Presence
Be here, consciously. Give your attention to your partner, the process, the space and the people around you.
We encourage everyone to put mobile phones aside and avoid alcohol or other substances that alter perception.
Respect
Treat your partner, fellow participants, our neighbours and the studio with care.
Please leave your shoes outside the tatami area. Tatami appreciate clean feet much more than shoes, wax, food residue or red wine.
Responsibility
Kinbaku asks us to take responsibility for ourselves and for one another.
Only practise what you feel capable of doing safely. Another person’s wellbeing is literally in your hands.
Contribution
Give more than you take. You can contribute through your attention, your presence and your willingness to participate.
You can be at the best party of your life. It’s up to you.
Finding us
Studio 6×6 is situated in the attic of a residential building in the traditional Berlin district of Moabit, just south of Westhafen.
The studio is easy to reach by public transport, just a 7–10 minute walk from U Birkenstraße (U9) or S Beusselstraße (Ringbahn). If you are travelling by car, you can reach us conveniently via the A100, exit Beusselstraße.
Street parking is available throughout the neighbourhood. Please note that the area is subject to paid parking. Parking is free on Sundays.
The studio is located on the fifth floor and, like many traditional Berlin buildings, is accessible only by stairs.
In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, you improve your rope skills through teaching that balances technique, feeling, body awareness, safety and playfulness. You'll learn loads and have fun at the same time.
MOABIT
At Discover Kinbaku, I've learned not just rope technique but also how to genuinely look after the person I'm tying and understand the true spirit of Kinbaku.
The experience of the person in the rope is given as much importance as the person with the rope. From a very early stage, improvisation and tying with the energetic flow is encouraged.
Attending a workshop with Natasha and Alexander means meeting two people who create a warm and trusting atmosphere. Their teaching is grounded in the understanding that Kinbaku is about the connection between two people. There is time to experiment, to play and to ask questions, making every session both joyful and deeply personal.
