We are passionate about Kinbaku (緊縛), which means “tight binding. It is used as a synonym for Japanese, erotic, rope bondage. Often the term Shibari (縛り), which means decorative tying, is used interchangeably.
For us, as a couple tying together for more than 10 years now, it is a personal, intimate journey. We use „Kinbaku“ for our rope work, as we like to cherish the Japanese roots of what we practice as well as emphasize eroticism, emotionality, and the “tight” commitment the two partners make to each other when entering a Kinbaku scene.
We founded the Kinbaku Society of Berlin as a forum to research the different streams that lead to the underground culture of Kinbaku, we work on photography, video and life performance. We also publish a magazine collecting these different formats for a wider fanbase. We offer a wide range of education for models and riggers.

“Kinbaku is a journey for me, a path I walk with my partner and a few close people, people whom I trust to open up to. Kinbaku happens between two people, it is communication and emotion – and highly erotic. I am interested in playing with sensations to induce emotions: suffering, pain and pleasure … in beauty. When I tie then that’s definitely a challenge for the person in my ropes”
Natasha NawaTaNeko
“I love rope for that it’s honest. Real. Tangible. With rope, you can learn to surrender, you can learn integrity. You can learn to be generous – and grateful. If you engage in a rope play – I mean really engage, with the full heart, it will inevitably transform you. I’m into a challenge of two people coming close, very close together, a challenge of exchanging a gift of a focused attention and connection, becoming vulnerable in showing themselves as they are and letting other see them”
Somatics for Rope Bottoms by Natasha NawaTaNeko
The book consists of 12 essays – somatic inquiries – inspiring the readers to look for the answers in their own body and re-claim their agency for the most important decisions that come up when we decide to explore kink. “Somatics for Rope Bottoms” is promoting the self-responsible and conscious approach to a kink in general and is relevant to all kinds of kinky adventures, no matter on what side, top or bottom…
Our bondage coaching and education offer
As experienced rope bondage practitioners with a background in somatic bodywork and martial arts, we offer bondage and kink education to interested individuals, couples and groups. Our aim is to teach both partners equally – with complementary content. We teach the riggers to improve their bondage skills and the rope bottoms to realize their best individual experience in the rope. We also cover safety on and off the rope, polarity in relationships, power exchange and consent.
We are based in Berlin where we are available for one-on-one coaching, private lessons and small group workshops at our studio 6×6. We are open to invitations to interested communities.
Warm and cozy place, superfriendly, welcoming and caring people, great workshops where you learn a lot more about Kinbaku than just patterns. If you wanna study Naka Style / Semenawa in Berlin, this is the place to be. Highly recommended also for bottoms!
Nadine

Amazing location, professional workshops and teaching, full of events on a side (practice, side lesson, drawing). I can just recommend Discover Kinbaku.
Fabio
Amazing workshops with an excellent team and impeccable teaching capacities. I have learnt a lot from all of my visits to the studio and definitely recommend them to anyone who is serious about ropes. I would also like to add that this space, including their jam, was so far one of the most queer and women* friendly open rope spaces in Berlin.

A beautiful place and beautiful people, I always had deep experiences with them and the quality of teaching is really high. What I had during the workshops and the meeting there was not only techniques teaching but also the possibility to live my emotions and share them without feeling any kind of shame or feeling judged. Highly recommend for any kind of level. See you there!

In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, you get to improve your rope skills. The teaching is very well balanced between technique, feeling, body awareness, safety and playfulness. Lessons are well structured and there is even a handout to remember keypoints and harnesses 🙂 To sum up, you'll learn loads and have fun at the same time - highly recommend it.
Fee

A very nice and cozy place, the team taking care of it is awesome and welcoming. The room where you practice is very Japanese looking and really ads up to the experience. Great professionals and workshops a must go to place.

A beautiful and special place. The workshops at Discover Kinbaku are no shallow or chaotic fast food, but well thought-of concepts with a learning theory behind it, which doesn't only cover knots and patterns, but e.g. also interpersonal dynamics, communication and the side of the rope bottoms. All in a respectful, welcoming and open atmosphere, and the team has a lot of valuable experience to share. Would love to attend more classes in the future!
