Rope bondage can convey tension, vulnerability, power, intimacy and beauty. It frustrates us to see that potential lost when the rope simply does not make sense. We bring our Kinbaku expertise into the creative process, helping filmmakers, photographers and artists make rope an authentic part of the story.

Authentic Kinbaku expertise for creative productions
What can we bring
to your production?
A convincing bondage scene is not only about how the rope looks. Body mechanics, movement, interaction, cultural context and the experience of the performer all influence whether what happens on screen feels believable.
We help creative teams translate their vision into rope that works for the story, the camera and the people involved, bringing together creative direction, technical expertise and responsible practice.
Get the details right
Small details can make the difference between a scene that feels convincing and one that immediately looks wrong. We advise on technique, rope behaviour, body mechanics, historical and cultural context and the visual language of Japanese Kinbaku.
Design the scene
From an initial script, concept or visual reference, we develop positions, sequences, transitions, choreography and rope composition around your creative direction and the practical requirements of the production.
Work confidently with performers
Rope places very real demands on the body. We prepare actors and performers, adapt the work to individual bodies and boundaries and advise on communication, physical safety and risk throughout rehearsals and filming.
Have expertise on set
When plans, camera angles or timing change, the rope often has to change with them. We provide professional rigging, technical supervision and continuity on set, adapting the rope while protecting both the creative intention and the people involved.
Our involvement can range from a single script consultation or demonstration to scene development, rehearsals and ongoing collaboration throughout production.

Why work with us?
We bring together perspectives that are rarely found in one consulting team: more than fifteen years of Kinbaku practice, international teaching and performance experience and a deep understanding of visual storytelling, photography and composition.
Working together as rigger and rope bottom gives us insight into both sides of what happens in the ropes. We understand not only how a scene needs to be constructed and how it will read on camera, but also how it is experienced by the person performing it.
Our work is deeply rooted in Japanese Kinbaku and its cultural and aesthetic context. Through our teaching, artistic practice and editorial work with Kinbaku Society of Berlin Magazine, we have spent years researching, documenting and engaging with the culture surrounding the art.
This combination allows us to move comfortably between the language of Kinbaku and the language of a creative production, without losing the integrity of either.

Questions & Answers
Can you work with actors who have no rope experience?
Absolutely. Performers often have little or no previous experience with rope. We introduce them to what they need to know, rehearse where appropriate and adapt the rope work to their bodies, boundaries and the demands of the scene.
When should we involve you in the production?
Ideally, as early as possible. We can consult during script development, concept creation and visual planning, allowing the rope to become part of the scene from the beginning. We can also join a project later when specific expertise is needed.
Can you be present during filming or photography?
Yes. We can provide professional rigging, technical supervision and continuity on set, working alongside the director and production team and adapting when creative or practical requirements change.
Do you only consult on Japanese Kinbaku?
Our expertise is rooted in Japanese Kinbaku, but we can also advise on broader representations of rope bondage, BDSM and related practices where technical accuracy, cultural context and responsible representation matter.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. We are based in Berlin and regularly work and travel throughout Europe and internationally. Depending on the project, consultation can also take place remotely during development and pre production.
Have something
specific in mind?
Can you review our script or storyboard? Can you design a rope scene from scratch? Can you work alongside our intimacy coordinator or stunt team? Can you provide the rigging as well as consultation? What does it cost to bring you onto a production?
Every project is different. Just ask.
