The Kinbaku Society of Berlin Magazine
The Kinbaku Society of Berlin (KSB) is a forum initiated by a group of passionate, enthusiastic, and creative volunteers who research, practice and study traditional Kinbaku, and related subcultures. We strive to understand historical and contemporary Japanese conceptualizations of beauty in rope bondage and how we can translate them within European culture. Our hope is to formulate an original expression of Kinbaku that respects its’ Japanese origin without appropriating it.
The results of our studies are presented in a printed quarterly magazine, in the form of poetry, novels, articles, documentation, drawings, and images.
We produce a magazine for Your delight, as well as our own!
It is an art project: a platform of genuine human expression of people who are deviant, hentai – not fitting into the normal society, but have a right to exist.
We produced 17 issues so far – and we aim to keep going. Availability is announced on our social media channels, as well as in our newsletter and Telegram channel.
You can buy the magazine online or you can get them from our physical pick up points.
About the Kinbaku Society
The group self-organizes from who is there to contribute. In the spirit of an “unconference”, people come, when they are interested and resourceful to contribute and leave when they need rest, self-care or just re-focus on other projects.
There is no formal membership, no membership cards, no privileges. Membership is “awarded” based on shared values and past, present, or potential future contribution to the mission of the KSB.
But also – YOU all are the Kinbaku Society – when you come to an event, when you research, study, learn, exchange, when you respect the roots and tradition, especially the humans walked the path before us.
We appreciate your submissions
The Kinbaku Society of Berlin has a mission to encourage research, creativity, and development within all rope lovers. Whether you are a reader or a content creator, you are an important part of us! And we want to be more explicitly open about this and let you know that we are interested in what you have to offer! If you have content that you think might be appropriate for the magazine, then we would love for you to submit it!
